the Coaches
Meet Liz
Liz was a distance swimmer through college, but it wasn’t until later, when living in Hawai’i and New Zealand, that her real love of endurance sports was born. The wild terrain and active communities introduced her to all kinds of endurance adventures and it’s a way of life she’s embraced ever since.
Most recently (2022), Liz raced in the Ironman World Championships in Kona after qualifying at Ironman Tulsa. She's coached swimming for over two decades and has been the owner and head coach of the Reds Triathlon Team since 2009. She holds a Master's in Coaching and Athletic Administration and is a Sports Massage Therapist.
Liz is the recipient of the Kansas City Sports Commission Hallmark Leadership Award (2018), The Buck O'Neil Legacy Seat Award (2018), and The Team Cecilia Spirit of Multisport Award (2023) for promoting inclusivity in multisport.
After years of intense racing, this year, Liz is training for fun, trying to water her plants before they reach drought DEFCON 1, returning library books on time (maybe), and loving on her dog, Harley (aka Detective Constable Lois Lewandowski).
